Mind of a Mill Girl - Original mixed media painting in Dark Wood Tay Frame. Measures 60x60cm plus frame.

Inspired by the textile mills and dye works that were once numerous and lined the rivers and streams of the Calder Valley and the ancient pathways leading down to them from the hilltop villages. Imagining the workers who made their way along the pathways through the trees to work and the kind of thoughts that might have gone through their minds. The hard work ahead, putting food on the table, their faith, the outdoor world, correspondence with loved ones, home.

Currently on display in my studio at Northlight Studios for Hebden Bridge Open Studios weekend 7th - 9th July 11am till 5pm
