Suburban Dream - “Sugary Shrubbery”.

My interest lay in the roots of the suburban dream - to create a lived environment for people to have more space, moving into the countryside around cities. Though in building on this land nature was to a large extent usurped by concrete. The beginning of my career as an artist was as a designer of interior textiles - largely nature inspired as people inevitably wanted to bring nature back into their houses in some way.

These are mixed media pieces - acrylic paint, graphite, collaged vintage papers & original photographic images.
